Ross Pearson
Forest School Leader

As a Professional Horticulturalist, Ross has worked in some of the UK’s largest national gardens, most recently as Senior Gardener at the Alnwick Gardens. Ross has featured as a horticultural expert panellist at national horticulture shows and radio programmes. Working as a qualified Forest School Practitioner at Abbeyfields Forest School for five years, Ross has expanded the Forest School site and chairs the Northumbria Forest Education Network Group. Ross also works alongside local schools, helping to set up Forest Schools across the North East and deliver sessions.

Heather Pearson
Forest School Practitioner

Heather has worked at Abbeyfields First School for 23 years in a variety of roles. In 2010, Heather set up the Forest School on a small site within the large outdoor space here at Abbeyfields. Sessions were initially for Early Years children only, but quickly grew into an established part of Abbeyfields life, being rolled out across the whole school. Heather has been a qualified Forest School Practitioner for over 3 years and continues to work with the team to further develop the site and deliver sessions.
